When Mayor Dave took office, crime was a growing concern. Madison hadn’t added a single new fire station in 25 years or a new paramedic unit in 15 years.

Today, we enjoy our lowest crime rate in decades. And because of investments in public safety and our neighborhoods, for the first time in decades, Madison has no deeply troubled neighborhood like Broadway Simpson or Allied Drive were in the past. And Madison was recently rated the most secure city in the nation.

In his time in office, Mayor Dave has made public safety a priority.

In a time when other communities are facing massive cutbacks, Madison has improved services.  The city’s annual resident satisfaction survey found that 91% of Madisonians believe our basic city services are good or better.

Madison is not only weathering the economic storm, but we are on the right track to move our city forward. In Mayor Dave’s tenure, Madison has proved it can be both progressive and pro-business.
