Mayor Dave Campaign Raises $120,000 in Six Weeks

Mayor Dave Cieslewicz's campaign reported today that it raised over $120,000 in the last six weeks and continues to build powerful endorsements from across the community.

“Now more than ever, Madison needs a mayor with the energy and vision to take on the challenges of the next four years,” Gene Gowey of Teamsters Local 695 said. “The mayor has shown real leadership in taking on Scott Walker’s regressive agenda and standing up for Madison. That’s why this community is coming together to support him.”

“I’m proud to have such a broad coalition of support for my campaign from across this community,” Mayor Cieslewicz said. “Thanks to that support, we have the energy and momentum to keep our efforts strong not just through Election Day, but through the coming months as we continue to fight Scott Walker’s divisive policies.”

A broad range of organizations and community leaders have united behind Mayor Dave because his leadership in challenging times and will help the campaign organize for the final week. Mayor Dave has been endorsed by Fair Wisconsin, AFSCME, Madison Professional Police Officers Association, Fire Fighters Local 311, the Sierra Club, the Building and Construction Trades Council of South Central Wisconsin, Teamsters Local 695, SEIU Wisconsin State Council, Downtown Madison Inc. half the City Council and more. The mayor’s campaign has also been airing a television ad and running a strong voter contact program. The ad, which highlights personal stories from Madison police, firefighters and public employees, has been on TV for almost a week and a half. Campaign volunteers have delivered campaign literature to thousands of voters’ doors, including 12,000 in only two days this last weekend alone and made thousands of phone calls in just the last two weeks.
